Prof. Fuchs is Karl-Jaspers-Professor for the Philosophical Foundations of Psychiatry as well as head of the section "Phenomenological Psychopathology and Psychotherapy," at the Psychiatric Department, Heidelberg University. He coordinates the Marsilius-Project "Embodiment as Paradigm of a new Evolutionary Cultural Anthropology" and heads the Research Centre for the Karl-Jaspers-Edition.

 

His research focuses on phenomenological anthropology and psychopathology as well as theory and ethics in psychiatry and neurosciences.

 

Among his publications are „Zeit-Diagnosen“ (2002), „Leib und Lebenswelt“ (2008) sowie „Das Gehirn – ein Beziehungsorgan“ (4. Aufl. 2012).
