The Structured Doctoral Programme runs parallel to the doctoral course proper and consists of seminars, colloquia and workshops. Doctoral candidates availing themselves of this additional offering can acquire methodological and subject-related knowledge valuable for their doctoral studies and beyond. The intention is to provide an academically stimulating framework for doctoral studies as a period of intensive engagement with a particular subject.

Doctoral candidates who take part in the Structured Doctoral Programme will receive a certificate that, if so required, can take the form of ECTS points in a Transcript of Records. (This is especially relevant for doctoral candidates who are involved in a co-tutelle procedure or are not enrolled at the University of Heidelberg).

How can you join the Structured Doctoral Programme?

You can decide to join either when you have been admitted to the Faculty as a doctoral candidate or when you have already embarked on your doctoral course. In your doctoral file, "Promotionsakte", you should then select Strukturiertes Promotionsprogramm under the heading Profil der Promotion and enter heiDOCS-Programm der Neuphilologischen Fakultät under the heading Name strukturiertes Promotionsprogramm der Fakultät.

If you have any questions about the heiDocs-Events programme please get in touch with Luise Wendebourg and Charlotte Carl.

If you have questions about applying for the Structured Doctoral Programme, please get in touch with the staff of the Doctoral Studies Office: Martina Engelbrecht and Dr. Janine Luth (on parental leave).
