Short Bio-data
Farhan Zaheer is a Ph.D. Candidate at the South Asia Institute, Heidelberg University. His doctoral research title is ‘Exploring State Capacity in Pakistan: The Case of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’. He also did his Masters from the South Asia Institute in 2020 and the title of his thesis was ‘Stagnant Textile Exports of Pakistan: A Case of Weak State Capacity’.
Earlier, he worked as a business and political economy journalist in Pakistan for more than 10 years. He worked with leading newspapers in Pakistan as a full-time correspondent such as The Express Tribune, which is the publishing partner of The New York Times. He also worked with The News International which is a leading English language daily and part of the largest media group in Pakistan. He is a fellow of International Centre for Journalists (ICFJ), Washington D.C. and has travelled extensively for national and international media trainings. As a visiting faculty, he also taught at Bahria University, Karachi for about four years where he taught courses related to different disciplines in Social Sciences.
