While studies and work placements abroad can be very helpful for academic success and career entry, they must be prepared well. Start about a year in advance with inquiring about the conditions on site. What support options are available to you in terms of financing of living expenses, technical and personal assistance? How are costs for care and treatment of illness covered? 

Anyone interested in spending part of their course of studies abroad can receive funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) through Erasmus+ and other programmes. Special funding for students with disabilities is available.
