The Q+Ampel-Verfahren

The quality of Student Affairs and Teaching in current degree programmes is being continuously reviewed with the help of the Q+Ampel-Verfahren (a traffic-light rating system for quality assessment):

Systematic review and development of degree programmes in the Heidelberg QM system, heiQUALITY, is based on a quality control circuit, the so-called Q+Ampel-Verfahren:

This procedure acts as a periodic screening, monitoring and evaluation procedure for pre-defined evaluation units on a department/ institute/ centre level. On the one hand, it is designed as a continuous reporting system (for information on qualitative development processes of the degree programmes). On the other hand, the procedure indicates whether the decentralised tasks of quality assurance and development in degree programmes have been successfully implemented. The internal University (re)accreditation of degree programmes is also managed within this framework. The Q+Ampel-Verfahren generally lasts between five to seven years, with the following evaluation cycle following directly thereafter.
