Becoming a sponsor

Whether in business or in sciences, there is a high demand for qualified individuals, however, the lack of them is just as high. This is why the support of top professionals of tomorrow is a core task of the Germany Scholarship in order to make sure that Germany remains one of the most attractive science and business locations in light of the increasing global competition. This is a win-win-situation for all of us. Even for foundations that pursue the support of students as defined in their statutes, the Germany Scholarship offers a good alternative since the university is responsible for the selection of the most suitable candidates as well as for the application process. As a private individual, you have got the unique opportunity of getting in touch with young talents and other supporters. Start supporting bright minds today and get to know the benefits. There are various reasons why your support matters:

  • show social responsibility
  • strengthen Germany as a business location
  • expand your network
  • generate enthusiasm
  • support talent

Providing scholarships

The amount of the scholarship is 150 euros per month (1,800 euros per year) for one student. Of course, you can also offer scholarship support to several students. You can choose an open scholarship or earmark it for a specific program of study or discipline. As a sponsor, you also have the opportunity to plan for the longer term and commit to several semesters/years.

Testimonials of scholarship recipients and sponsors

Since the introduction of this scholarship program at the University of Heidelberg in the winter semester 2011|2012, numerous students have been supported by a Germany Scholarship. Scholarship recipients and sponsors tell about their experience with the scholarship program.

I wanted to get involved because…

Elke L.
„to me, it has always been very important to support young talent, not only because I think, it is up to the older generation to support our younger generation but also because I believe that it is a social assignement considering that many of us including me didn’t have such opportunities during their studies.“
Dr. Elke L. (Donor)

I consider being supported by the Germany Scholarship…

Melanie H.
„a recognition of my academic performances, so far, which also helped me meeting challenges in tough times and overcoming obstacles. My sponsor has become a mentor to me, someone I can always turn to if I need advice regarding my studies or even if I have more personal questions.“
Melanie H. (Germany Scholarship recipient)
