University of Heidelberg Congratulates Petra Dallmann on Relay Gold and World Record
Heidelberg medical student outstandingly successful at the European Swimming Championships in Berlin Congratulations from Vice-Rector Tröger on behalf of the University "We shall continue to ensure that outstanding sporting achievement is compatible with normal study progress"
With "extraordinary gratification" the University of Heidelberg has taken note of the outstanding successes of Heidelberg medical student Petra Dallmann at the European Swimming Championships in Berlin. In the name of the Rectorate and the entire University, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Jochen Tröger has faxed congratulations to Petra Dallmann on European gold and a new world record in the 4 x 100 metres freestyle relay and her other victory over 4 x 200 metres freestyle.
"As you know," Tröger wrote, "the University of Heidelberg greatly welcomes the presence of top-ranking competitive sportsmen and women in its ranks. In future we shall continue to do all we can to ensure that outstanding sporting achievement at the international level is compatible with normal study progress." Some of the reflected glory from Petra Dallmann's sporting triumphs also falls on the University of Heidelberg, Tröger concluded.
