Seven Grants for International MCB Students

C.H.S. Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service award grants to seven students on the international Master's course in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Heidelberg

The C.H.S. Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service are awarding grants to seven students from the international Master's course in molecular and cellular biology at the University of Heidelberg. The students come from Argentina, China, Greece, Israel, Mongolia and the United States. At an awarding ceremony on 20 December the grants will be presented to the recipients by Prof. Heinz Schaller, emeritus professor of molecular biology and microbiology at the Molecular Biology Centre (ZMBH) of the University of Heidelberg.

Prof. Schaller and his wife Prof. Chica Schaller, director at the Molecular Neurobiology Centre of the University of Hamburg, are the initiators of the C.H.S. Foundation. As of autumn 2002 the Foundation also plans to part-fund a doctoral programme in the field of biomedicine at the Universities of Heidelberg and Hamburg, for which highly qualified students from Eastern European countries can apply.
