Project:

Events like the cyber attacks on Estonia in 2007 or the discovery of Stuxnet in 2010 have led to increased public interest for the field of cybersecurity. The perception of cybersecurity has changed considerably, starting in the 1990s as a mostly technical problem there are nowadays concerns about cybercrime, cyberterrorism or even cyberwar. The increased attention led states to adopt different measures to handle this new situation.
In his dissertation Stefan Steiger analyses the cybersecurity policies of the United Kingdom and the Federal Republic of Germany from a role theoretical perspective. He also tries to identify the implications those national policies have for the establishment of an international cybersecurity regime.
