Research Summary

The multidisciplinary research group aims to unravel mechanisms underlying spontaneous recovery as well as secondary disease conditions after spinal cord injury. Based on respective insights and evidence obtained from related preclinical research novel neuroregenerative and neurorehabilitative therapeutic strategies are investigated. Technical and clinical prerequisite for the application of neuroprostheses to restore paralyzed upper extremities are developed. A prime goal of the group is to transfer methods and devices into real-world applications in end users.
