Research Summary:
Our research focus is on the influence of close social relationships on mental and physical health. Within this context, we assess the neuroendocrinological mechanisms which might mediate this effect. We use standard laboratory paradigms and everyday life assessments to prompt and observe social interaction in relation to different biological markers. With different interventions (e.g. stress-management and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy) we aim to improve stress-related psychobiological outcomes and, thus, mental and physical health in the long-term.
