"Family-Friendly university" and survey: What to do for families?

Heidelberg University certified as "family-friendly university" for the fourth time on June 15, 2020

Following the audits in 2011, 2014 and 2017, the university has again applied to the "berufundfamilie" organisation for the "family-friendly" award this year. It has done so with a program designed to continue and further improve its family orientation. This program includes individual measures and offers that address questions about working hours, substitution and relief possibilities, daily and flexible childcare.

Above all, however, the program reaffirms the commitment of the university as a whole to achieve family friendliness for all members of the university. The last few months in particular have put the university's commitment to the families of its members to the test - in many cases this has turned out well, but not in all. We have seen several times when general offers could not cushion problems in individual cases.

Therefore, the Equal Opportunities Commissioner would like to ask you to give us feedback. We want to learn from it and you can help shape the family friendliness of the university. For this purpose we have designed a survey in which you can take part here. The survey period is up to and including 14 July 2020.
