Professorship for public law, international law and human rights
The Hengstberger Foundation enabled the Faculty of Law to establish a professorship in public law, international law and human rights. It should be permanently maintained. Law Professor Dr Anja Seibert-Fohr, internationally renowned expert in public international law and human rights and Vice Chair of the United Nations Human Rights Committee, has been appointed to the Hengstberger Foundation Professorship in the 2016 | 2017 winter semester.

Examples of foundations within Heidelberg University’s assets

In addition to numerous funds, five dependent foundations are managed within the university’s corporate assets. We would like to present two of these foundations to you:


Kaufmann Peters Foundation

Thanks to the Kaufmann-Peters Foundation an elite funding programme for chemistry students has been set up since the 2016 | 2017 winter semester. Each year, four especially gifted students are awarded a funding of 300 € per month for a maximum of two years. This elite funding programme makes sure that only the best students receive a funding.

K. H. Bauer Foundation

The K. H. Bauer Foundation wants to support cancer research in Germany, The main focus lies on the transfer of basic research into clinical practice by intensifying the exchange between the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and the Heidelberg University Hospital.
