Mental Health
In the light of profound and rapid changes within our society, individuals often find it hard to achieve, maintain or restore mental well-being. More detailed knowledge is needed about life-span development of human self-regulation in mental health, and societal factors that impact this process at different ages. Such knowledge will allow us to generate new therapeutic, institutional, and political strategies. Together with members from the two medical faculties of Heidelberg University, as well as the ZI Mannheim we plan to implement an internationally visible infrastructure for conducting large scale longitudinal studies addressing these issues. In addition, we currently develop new methods of self-regulation and co-regulation assessment designed for interdisciplinary research.
