About us

MultiTip is a researcher with expertise in environmental economics and environmental psychology from Heidelberg University and Kassel University. This team includes:

Timo
 

Timo Goeschl is Professor of Environmental Economics at the Alfred Weber Institute of the University of Heidelberg where he directs the Research Center on Environmental Economics. As a co-editor of Environmental and Resource Economics, he is a renowned expert in both theoretical and experimental research on the dynamics of economics in complex environments.

Astrid

 

Astrid Dannenberg is Professor of Environmental and Behavioral Economics at the University of Kassel. She is widely recognized as a leading expert in experimental environmental economics. She has been awarded the ERC Starting Grant by the European Research Council and has recently been elected to the Council of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists.

Florian

 

Florian Diekert is a Junior Professor of Environmental and Natural Resource Economics at the University of Heidelberg. He is an expert on renewable resource systems and common-pool resource management. He recently won the prestigious ERC Starting Grant by the European Research Council and has published several interdisciplinary studies on fisheries.

 

Anna

Anna Marciniak-Czochra is a Professor at the Institute of Applied Mathematics Mathematikon at Heidelberg University. She is the leader of the group in Applied Analysis and Modelling in Biosciences.

Helen

 

Helen Fischer is a Postdoctoral researcher in Cognitive Psychology, currently at the Stockholm Resilience Centre. She is an expert on how people (mis)represent nonlinear processes and complex systems.
  

Karlijn

Karlijn van den Broek is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Environmental and Cognitive Psychology at the University of Heidelberg. Her research looks at the cognitive processes that influence decision-making and environmental behavior, focusing on heuristics and mental models.

 

Sina Klein

Sina Klein will start as Postdoctoral Researcher in Environmental and Cognitive Psychology at the University of Heidelberg. She is interested in pro-environmental behavior and cooperation in social dilemmas, personality and situational factors influencing decision behavior, unethical and cheating behavior.  

 

Santiago

Santiago Gómez-Cardona is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Heidelberg. He has recently completed his doctorate in economics and has a previous background in anthropology at the undergraduate an master levels. His interested in the mechanisms that could be implemented to manage fisheries in open access fisheries in Lake Victoria.

 

Paul

 

Paul Tuda is the Communication Specialist in the MultiTip Project. He is trained fisheries scientist with more than 10 years experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of fisheries-related projects and the assessment of fish stocks. 

Phillip

 

Philipp Händel is a Master student in economics. He is currently working on the socio-economic drivers of fishing effort in Lake Victoria. 

 

 

The MultiTip team wants to make a regular contribution to an internationally recognized advisory board. The board has expertise in applied system science, aquatic ecology, cognitive psychology, decision-making, international business, and natural resource economics.


Marten

Marten Scheffer is Professor of Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality Management at Wageningen University. He is one of the world's most renowned experts in the field of stability and change of complex systems.


Marja

Maja Schlüter is Associate Professor at the Stockholm Resilience Center. She is a leading expert in the co-evolution of social-ecological systems resulting from interactions between actors, institutions and ecosystems.


Coty

Coty Gonzales is a Research Professor at the Department of Social and Decision Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. She is a renowned expert in human decision making in dynamic and complex environments.


Scott

Scott Barret is Professor of Natural Resource Economics at Columbia University. He is a leading scholar on transnational and global challenges, ranging from climate change to disease eradication. His chair is sponsored by Lenfest-Earth Institute Professor. 


Elke

Elke Weber is a Professor of Psychology and Public Affairs, Princeton University. She is an expert on behavioral models of judgment and decision making under risk and uncertainty. Her chair is sponsored by Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor.
