The Chinese Dream

Since the Chinese president Xi Jinping has put forward the term “Chinese dream” in November 2012, there have been plenty of discussions inside and outside of China on what the Chinese dream is. However, there is disagreement on the meaning and definition of the new concept. As the catchphrase has been frequently repeated and is central to Xi Jinping’s presidency, we have started a collection on the discourse about the “Chinese dream”.

The Communist Party mouthpiece Xinhua run an extensive special coverage on the subject Chinese Dream both in Chinese and English. The People's Daily, the flagship newspaper of the Communist Party, publishes a special coverage titled “strengthening China’s power, realizing the Chinese dream”.
The Chinese online media Sohu.com, which won the exclusive right to establish official website of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, run a multimedial special on the Chinese dream. The state-run English-language website China Daily covers a wide range of the latest news report, photos and comments on the concept of the Chinese dream on their website.
A special coverage by the All-China Women's Federation, the CPC's official women's organization, contains stories of Chinese women who seeks to achieve their dreams. Particular focus is put on women’s opinions on and understanding of the Chinese Dream. Here is a forum of Xinhua especially on the Chinese dream, where netizens discuss different aspects on this topic.
