Application for Admission

Prerequisite for the acceptance as a doctoral student is a higher education qualification that is recognised in Germany. As a rule this is a qualification equivalent to a “Diplom”, “Magister”, master's degree or “Staatsexamen” awarded by an approved university.

For candidates who do not hold an equivalent to the above mentioned university degrees exceptions may be considered after passing a qualifying assessment.

To become a doctoral student at the faculty you first have to find a supervisor for your doctoral project.
The faculty’s research groups are listed on the web-pages of the institutes:

Institute of Inorganic Chemistry
Institute of Organic Chemistry
Institute of Physical Chemistry
Institute of Geography

Institute of Earth Sciences

Together with your supervisor you can apply for acceptance as doctoral candidate at the faculty.
