Project Description

One objective of the project is the controlled self-assembly of extended heterocyclic π-systems in a brick-wall type fashion during crystallization processes, driven by triptycenylene end-caps to achieve large single crystals for organic field effect transistors (OFETs) with high charge carrier mobilities. Another objective is the synthesis of three-dimensional electron-acceptors based on triptycene and spirobifluorene to substitute common fullerene derivatives in bulk-heterojunction solar cells (BHJSCs).
