Charge transport and surface modification of semiconducting single crystals of N-heteropolycycles

In this project we will investigate the charge transport in single crystals of various semiconducting N-heteropolycycles. High purity single crystals are grown from solution and from the gas phase and applied in field-effect transistors to determine the intrinisic carrier mobility along different crystal axes. The surface of the crystals will be modified chemically and investigated by various scanning probe techniques (Kelvin probe microscopy and apertureless scanning near-field infrared microscopy).
