DEGREE PROGRAMMES REQUIRING APPLICATION FOR ADVANCED SEMESTERS
The application and admission procedures may differ for transfer students and lateral entrants. This page contains all the information you need regarding application deadlines for advanced semesters.
For German students and international students with a German higher education entrance qualification, only a few programmes require application for the advanced semesters.
International students with foreign university entrance qualification must always submit completed applications for all programmes prior to the established deadline. This applies also to advanced semesters.

APPLICATION DEADLINES FOR ADVANCED SEMESTERS
GERMAN APPLICANTS AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WITH A GERMAN HIGHER EDUCATION ENTRANCE QUALIFICATION
If your chosen degree programme requires an application (see above), the application deadlines provided below apply.
Required documents submitted subsequent to the application form must be received by Heidelberg University no later than the application deadline: 15 January for the summer semester and 15 July for the winter semester. Performance assessments (e.g. certificates) constitute an exception; they may be submitted up until 15 August for the winter semester and 15 February for the summer semester. The certificate from the First State Examination in Medicine required for the first clinical semester may be submitted up until 25 September.
INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
The deadlines listed below apply to international applicants (transfer students and lateral entrants).
Credits may be submitted up until 15 August for the winter semester and 15 February for the summer semester. The certificate from the First State Examination in Medicine required for the first clinical semester may be submitted up until 25 September.

If the deadline for application falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday, the deadline will not be extended to the end of the next working day (§ 31, para. 3, item 2 and para. 5 of the Baden-Württemberg State Administration Act [Landesverwaltungsverfahrensgesetz]).
