New to Heidelberg and Still Finding Your Way Around?
Heidelberg is a relatively small city with a large population. The few rooms available in the immediate vicinity of the campus (Altstadt and Neuenheim) are usually more expensive than in other parts of the city or outside the city. The other districts of Heidelberg and the surrounding communities such as Dossenheim, Leimen, Eppelheim and Neckargemünd are very easy to reach by public transport. It may even be worth looking for a room in Mannheim. Rents there are significantly lower, and the S-Bahn will take you to Heidelberg in about 15 minutes.
