International Degree-Seeking Students Preparing for your study stay

Have you decided on a degree programme or even been admitted? Congratulations! Once you have formally accepted the study offer, the next step for admitted applicants is enrolment. But there are also other important organizational matters you should take care of well in advance of your arrival in Heidelberg to ensure a successful start to your studies.

Starting the enrolment process

Admitted applicants will find information about the documents to be uploaded for enrolment and the deadlines to be met on their letter of admission and in their heiCO account.

If you have been admitted to a German-taught degree program and do not yet have the German language certificate required for enrolment, you have the option of registering for the DSH exam at the International Study Center of Heidelberg University by email: dsh@isz.uni-heidelberg.de

 DSH exam and exam dates

Your enrolment can only be completed once you have transferred the outstanding fees and your health insurance status as a student has been electronically reported to Heidelberg University by a German statutory health insurance provider. This is a prerequisite for activating your Uni-ID and using the online and student services.
