The University allocates places according to the conditions set out in the State Law on Higher Education in Baden-Wuerttemberg (Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg) and the Admission and Immatriculation Regulations of Heidelberg University. It is possible to enrol in a degree programme without admission restrictions or entrance examination if all formal admission requirements are fulfilled. Applicants for any degree programme (Bachelor degree or state examination) at Heidelberg University must hold a university entrance qualification and have very good German language skills. Additional qualifications may be required for certain subjects.
