APPLICANTS FROM NON-EU/EEA COUNTRIES REGISTRATION FOR SUBJECTS WITH NO ADMISSION RESTRICTIONS OR ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS

Subjects without admission restrictions or entrance examinations are subject only to an access restriction.

International applicants from non-EU/EEA countries with a non-German university entrance qualification must submit an application for admission directly to Heidelberg University for all subjects studied at Bachelor level, or with a concluding state examination. Places for study are allocated by the University.
All applications that arrive by the application deadline and fulfil the formal requirements, will be reviewed to ensure that the applicant meets all legal requirements for admission to a degree programme at the University.

Further Information

The University allocates places according to the conditions set out in the State Law on Higher Education in Baden-Wuerttemberg (Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg) and the Admission and Immatriculation Regulations of Heidelberg University. Generally, provided that an applicant fulfils all legal requirements for admission, he or she is able to enrol in a degree programme without admission restrictions or an entrance examination. Admission to some degree programmes without admission restrictions and entrance examinations is nonetheless subject to specific, additional requirements. Information on such requirements can be found in the respective selection regulations/admission regulations or study and examination regulations.

ADMISSION AND COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for any degree programme at Heidelberg University (Bachelor’s degree or course concluding with a state examination) must hold a university entrance qualification, and have very good German language skills. When assessing non-German qualifications, Heidelberg University applies the evaluation framework provided by the Central Office for Foreign Education (Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen, ZAB).
