Entrance Examination for a Preparatory Course

When and how will the results be published?

What do the results mean?

  • “Not admitted” This means that you sat the entrance examination for the preparatory course, but that your performance was not sufficient for you to be admitted to the preparatory course. 
    In case you are interested in taking the German language course, please contact the Kolleg für deutsche Sprache und Kultur,  Max-Weber-Haus, phone number 0049-6221-545949.
  • “Preparatory course” This means that you have passed the entrance examination for the preparatory course and that you can commence study of the relevant course.

    In order to participate in the preparatory course you must also enrol as a student:

Enrolment as a student at the Division of student affairs and teaching

You'll receive information on enrollment during the introduction session for newly admitted students on 12 April 2024.

Anyone who has been admitted to the preparatory course or a German course must enrol as a student at Heidelberg University.

First you have to register with heiCo, the online portal.

Please note that you may only enrol after successful participation in the entrance examination.

Please enrol by 30 April 2024 at the latest.

Upon receipt of your documents you will be enroled as a student of Heidelberg University. Your student ID, a certificate of enrolment as well as other documents relevant for the start of the programme will be sent to you by mail, hence please make sure to state your current postal address in Germany on your application for immatriculation.

What else do I need to do?

  • After enroling as a student you must transfer the semester fee of € 151,05 to:

    Reason for payment: Last name, name, and student number
  • You must validate your student identity card (student ID) at one of the validation machines located in Seminarstraße 2, ground floor, on the left.

Introduction session for newly admitted students

The introduction session will provide information on Studienkolleg, enrolment, visa, and health insurance. Participation is highly recommended!
