Orientation Events Organised by Subjects and Departmental Student Committees

How is my academic programme structured? Which lectures and courses should I attend? Which examinations do I have to take and when? Answers to these questions will be provided in the orientation events run by each subject.

In addition to this, almost every department has a departmental student committee. Students in the committee work on a voluntary basis to further the needs and interests of students of their subject. Many departmental student committees run welcome events for new students, during which they offer insider tips and information to help you settle into the department. Such sessions take place as part of the introductory course run by each subject, or on a separate occasion. In the latter instance, the departmental student committee will communicate the date and time of the event with you directly. We strongly recommend that you attend the orientation event for you subject as this will give you the best possible start to your degree programme.

Please note that some subjects require registration for certain lectures and courses prior to the introductory event. All relevant information can be found on the subjects’ webpages and in the course catalogue.
