Semester EventsWorkshop: Effective (Digital) Presentations

This event is intended to help the participants improve their oral presentation skills, reduce inhibitions and learn new - digital - presentation techniques.

In this workshop, the most important aspects of an effective presentation will be discussed and analysed, such as (body) language, structure of content as well as the use of supporting media. We will also talk about the idiosyncrasies of presentations in the digital age.  In addition, the participants will be given the opportunity to apply their new skills and knowledge in a short presentation with a subsequent feedback round focusing on weaknesses and - potentially previously unknown - strengths.

Overview of the various workshop topics:

  • Overview of the main aspects of an effective presentation
    1. Situational context
    2. Structure
    3. Use of media
    4. (Body) language  - live and online
