SemesterbegleitprogrammAcademic Reading Skills

Content

Reading scientific texts is an essential part of academic life. You are not only required to grasp the sense of the written word, but to understand complex issues and to follow the author’s logic

This workshop aims at improving your academic reading skills. You will learn to approach texts on various levels, since studying requires different reading abilities. You may be reading a book intended to convey to students basic knowledge about their subject, an article relating new research results to an expert audience or you may scan a text to find out whether it is useful secondary literature for your term paper.

Please note

This course will be offered in German. Prerequisites are therefore good German language skills (min. Intermediate Course II).
