Excursions SATURDAY NOVEMBER 29th - CHRISTMASMARKET IN ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER
We start the Christmas season in a real fairytale town: Rothenburg ob der Tauber is considered the epitome of a medieval German town and could serve as the ideal setting for any of the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales. Discover the numerous famous postcard motifs: the well-known “Plönlein” with the Sieberstor gate, the impressive town hall, and, of course, the Gothic Ratstrinkstube, whose clock performs the legendary “Meistertrunk” every hour on the hour.
After our city tour, you will have plenty of time to visit the “Reiterlesmarkt,” one of Germany's most romantic Christmas markets set against a picturesque backdrop. Or spend the afternoon in one of the city's numerous museums: 1,000 years of European legal history in the Medieval Crime Museum, the history of the old imperial city in the Rothenburg Museum, or Germany's only Christmas Museum—there is something for everyone here.
