Advisory Service and Support Services for Current and Prospective International Students

Important Notice

Please note that we currently do not offer open consultation hours. You can reach us by email and phone or you can take part in one of our online consultation hours. The contact details and access to the online consultation can be found on this page. Should a personal meeting be essential, we will be happy to arrange an individual appointment with you.

Please note that in the university administration building visitors and staff are required to maintain a distance of at least 1.5 meters at all times and that they are obliged to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth. This also applies to consultations in the student administration and the student advisory service.

The Corona Ordinances oblige the university to collect the following contact details from all visitors, users and participants at events: first and last name, address, date and time of presence and telephone numbers. You can fill in and print the necessary form in advance and bring it to the consultation. You an also fill in the form on site.

Entry to university facilities is only permitted to those persons who do not manifest any of the grounds for exclusion defined in the Corona Ordinance of the State Government of Baden-Württemberg, such as the typical symptoms of an infection with the coronavirus.

International Student Advisory Office

The International Relations Office provides advisory services for international students at Heidelberg University. The staff will assist you in administrative issues (application and admission, registration, change of study programme, leave of absence, exmatriculation, etc.), in matters related to organising and financing your studies, health insurance and residency regulations. A special advisory and support service for refugees is also available.

You can receive individual and confidential advice on any issue you may have regarding studying or living in Heidelberg during our consultation hours.
