Development of immune modulatory RNAs

Cartoon of how immune modulatory RNAs are working

The expression of numerous cytokines is controlled by different RNA-binding proteins (RNA-BPs), which regulate the stability and translation of cytokine mRNAs. In “Synthetic Immunology” project 4, we design and optimize immune-modulatory RNAs (imodRNAs) with the aim to sequester specific RNA-BPs. Upon packaging and delivery, imodRNAs are expected to alter cytokine expression and thereby modulate immune responses.
