Academic transfer into societyKnowledge Transfer

The field of knowledge transfer is vast and includes political cooperation, consulting activities, cultural formats and interventions or citizen science projects.

In order to optimally support scientists at Heidelberg University with such diverse transfer projects, the transfer agency hei_INNOVATION offers individual consulting on issues related to knowledge transfer. This includes

  • advice on the implementation of transfer ideas;
  • support in the search for suitable funding formats;
  • the preparation of transfer-relevant scientific applications conception of longer-term plans for the implementation of extensive knowledge transfer projects.

Current examples for knowledge transfer

SIRI

In order to continuously develop knowledge transfer consulting, the transfer agency hei_INNOVATION is working together with the Center for Social Investment and Innovation (CSI) on the development of the Social Impact Readiness Index Tool (SIRI). With the help of the tool, scientists interested in transfer, especially from the Social Sciences and Humanities, can learn more about transfer potentials and suitable impact paths of their socially relevant research. In a next step, these can be reflected upon and further developed together with hei_INNOVATION.

heiCHANGE

“heiCHANGE - Visibility through Structural Change” by Prof. Dr. Christiane Schwieren, developed in cooperation with the transfer agency hei_INNOVATION and the Unit for Family, Diversity & Equality aims to strengthen innovative women and their achievements in the scientific context and make them more visible. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research under the funding guideline "Innovative Women in Focus".

heiEXPERT

Within the framework of the above-mentioned research project heiCHANGE, a networking platform called heiEXPERT is being established, which on the one hand can be used as a tool to research the effectiveness of various interventions for increasing the visibility of female scientists, and on the other hand offers a networking opportunity for all members of the university, who can present their expertise as well as transfer and research achievements.
