4EU+ European University Alliance Third Call for Proposals in SEED4EU+ Initiative

1 July 2025

Funds for cross-university cooperation in research and teaching

With the interuniversity funding program SEED4EU+, the 4EU+ European University Alliance aims to bolster links between the eight partner universities and contribute in the long term to realizing a research-intensive European university alliance. Accordingly, it seeks to support cross-university projects and, in particular, to make room for innovative ideas. Joint research activities are the focus of the third SEED4EU+ call; proposals for projects in the field of teaching will also be considered. Eligible to apply are researchers with a doctorate wishing to implement creative, cross-university projects at a minimum of three 4EU+ locations. The closing date for submitting applications is 3 October 2025.

The 4EU+ European University Alliance brings together the eight universities of Prague, Heidelberg, Paris-Panthéon-Assas, Sorbonne in Paris, Copenhagen, Geneva, Milan and Warsaw. The group is one of the university alliances funded in the context of the European Universities Erasmus+ call. By supporting strategic higher education partnerships and building up an integrated university system, the European Commission pursues the goal of clustering research, teaching and innovation in Europe in new structures, and thereby modernizing and strengthening the European Education Area.

The SEED4EU+ call is closely linked to the Alliance’s recently adopted ten-year strategy. Building on common values like academic freedom, inclusion and social engagement, its long-term aim is to expand collaboration in the fields of education, research, innovation and global outreach, and boost the free flow of talent, ideas and knowledge. The goal is, via an interuniversity campus, to establish an integrated European research university that can contribute to addressing global challenges.

Interested persons can obtain further information about the SEED4EU+ call on the website of the 4EU+ European University Alliance. A video recording of the first, online information event is also available there. Another online briefing for prospective participants in the application phase is planned for September this year. The 4EU+ Office at Heidelberg University is pleased to answer any questions on SEED4EU+.
