3 May 2021

Robert and Christine Danziger Scholarship advertised to start in the 2021/2022 winter semester at Heidelberg University

A new scholarship for prospective master’s or doctoral students from Africa, primarily from Ghana or another country in West and Central Africa, has been advertised at Heidelberg University. The Robert and Christine Danziger Scholarship will be granted for the first time in the winter semester of 2021/2022 and supports master’s students in political science and sociology, as well as geography with a focus on human geography or geoinformatics. Doctoral students may also apply for funding. Funding is available for projects in political science or in geography with the focus on geoinformatics. Applications can be submitted until 15 July 2021.

The precondition for applying for a scholarship is, besides the individual academic performance, the need for financial support to be able to complete a master’s degree or doctorate in Heidelberg. The monthly support for master’s students will be 900 euros and for doctoral candidates 1,200 euros. The scholarship will be granted initially for two semesters. It will, however, be possible to extend it by another two semesters. The purpose of this scholarship founded by Robert and Christine Danziger is to offer young talents from African countries support for their project to begin – and successfully complete – a master’s programme or doctorate in Heidelberg.
