MEDICINE & LIFE SCIENCES MEET TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING & APPLIED RESEARCH

About the Symposium

Heidelberg University and Technical University Mannheim are joining forces for a one-day interdisciplinary symposium designed to explore the exciting interfaces between Medicine and Life Sciences on the one hand, and Technology, Engineering and Applied Research on the other. This event marks a significant step towards turning research results into real-world solutions and into deepening the existing partnership between our two institutions. It brings together researchers, faculty, and leadership from both universities to identify shared scientific interests, spark new collaborations, and lay the groundwork for joint projects and initiatives.

The symposium is open to all researchers, postdoctoral scientists, and PhD students with an interest in the thematic areas listed below. 

Scientific Topics

The symposium will explore synergies and common interests across the following research areas:

  • Organoids
  • Live Imaging
  • Mass Spectrometry (MS) and Optical Spectroscopy Technologies
  • Biotechnology & Microbiology
  • Computational & AI Approaches in Medicine and the Life Sciences
  • Automation in Medicine and the Life Sciences 

WHEN: July 13, 9AM-6PM, followed by get-together
WHERE: Audimax, Heidelberg

FORMAT: talks, flash talks, networking

Oral presentations will be selected by representatives of both universities. Presenters will be informed by July 3rd.

The final list of attendees is needed to handle financial aspects of the event and is shared with the finance department at Heidelberg University for this purpose.
