4EU+ European University AllianceFunding of study and research visits for students and doctoral candidates of Heidelberg University at 4EU+ partner universities

Funding period: January to December 2022

The goal of the 4EU+ European University Alliance is to establish a European university system with compatible courses of study, flexible study paths for students and manifold mobility options for students and academic staff.

Within the scope of its accompanying national programme “European University Networks (EUN)” the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides financial support for short-term study visits of students and doctoral candidates of Heidelberg University at 4EU+ partner universities for study and research activities (e.g. participation in regular study programmes, participation in a research project, visits for own research projects, preparation of final thesis, participation in intensive courses, block seminars, summer schools, internships)

The following funds are available:

Programme A – Stay duration of one to two months 
Subsistence allowance:
one month – € 600 
up to two months – € 600 plus Erasmus+ installment (proportional to the actual stay duration)

Travel costs:
Paris/Milan/Prague – € 180
Copenhagen/Warsaw – € 275

Programme B – Stay duration of up to two weeks
Subsistence allowance:
up to one week – € 250 
up to two weeks – € 300

Travel costs:
Paris/Milan/Prague – € 180
Copenhagen/Warsaw – € 275

Applications are accepted

  • for Programmes A and B from students and doctoral candidates of Heidelberg Univesity for individually organised mobility to a 4EU+ partner university;
  • for Programme B from academic staff of Heidelberg University (e.g. coordinators of joint summer schools, block seminars, intensive courses, excursions) for the mobility of a group of students/doctoral candidates to a 4EU+ partner university.

Applications should include the following documents:

Individually organised mobility (Programmes A and B)

  • 4EU+ application form (individual)
  • CV
  • Study/research proposal (1-2 pages)
  • Confirmation from the partner university/academic tutor (may be submitted later)
  • Transcript of records
  • If participating in study courses: proof of language proficiency
  • School-leaving certificate. Where relevant, intermediate certificate, Bachelor’s/Master’s degree certificate (copy)

Group application from academic staff (Programme B)

  • 4EU+ application form (groups)
  • Description of activity
  • List of participants
  • Confirmation/invitation letter from the partner university

For mobility taking place between January and December 2022, applications can be submitted at any time up until 30 September 2022. Applications have to be submitted before the mobility starts. Funding cannot be backdated.

Please note: Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all travel subsidies are granted under the condition that the stay abroad can take place.
