Starting in the winter semester 2025/26, all of Heidelberg University’s bachelor’s and master’s students, doctoral candidates and post docs regardless of their field of study, are encouraged to enroll in the relaunched version of hei_INNOVATION’s Entrepreneurial Skills Modules. The new system offers a clearer, more flexible structure tailored to individual needs and interests. The modules introduce participants to important topics in the fields of innovation, management entrepreneurship, and social entrepreneurship.

Cubes staples with Entrepreneurial Symbols

True to the motto “Turn Ideas into Impact – Career Skills for Changemakers” it is not necessary to found your own company to benefit from Entrepreneurial Skills. The modules help participants launch their careers and learn to implement their ideas, as Entrepreneurial Skills are the key to recognizing opportunities, developing potential - and really making a difference. The program teaches participants how to turn ideas into real-world innovations, develop practical solutions, build business models, and master persuasive communication.

hei_INNOVATION worked intensively last semester to redesign the Entrepreneurial Skills Certificate and its modules. The transfer agency started offering these courses in the winter semester 2021/2022. With the experience of the last 6 semesters, hei_INNOVATION has been redesigning the Entrepreneurial Skills Certificate and its modules to offer a clearer, more flexible structure tailored to individual needs and interests. No matter the level of expertise or the existence of previous knowledge, everyone is welcome to enroll in the courses that align with their current and personal interests. There is something for everyone in the relaunched version of the Entrepreneurial Skills Modules.

From the upcoming winter semester onward, students will be able to design their own personalized learning journey by choosing, according to their interests, from a wide range of courses each semester. Instead of the previous pillar system, there modules are now structured in a learning path. The content focus of the previously used pillars will remain in the new system and form the basis for the various stations. This ensures that all students who have already started their Entrepreneurial Skills Certificate can complete it seamlessly and successfully.

What can you expect in the winter semester 2025/2026?

For those who are not yet familiar with the topic, hei_INNOVATION offers the foundation course “Entrepreneurship Basics” starting on October 21, 2025, ideal for anyone who wants to get a first impression of entrepreneurial thinking. After completing the foundation course, there are specialization modules that allow the students to deepen their knowledge in areas of their interest, like the course “Innovation Management” that is starting on October 29, 2025. A new field that is being launched this semester is the “Personal Skills Modules”, where participants can learn skills for their own personal development, with the course “Disrupt Yourself: Become the designer of your future!” also taking place this winter semester.

For those who prefer a more practical approach, hei_INNOVATION offers the practice-oriented workshops and courses “4EU+ Entrepreneurial and Intrapreneurial University Diploma,” “STARTUP LAB,” and “Chile Winter School.” The application deadline for the 4EU+ Diploma is September 18, 2025. For those who already have more experience in this field, there are also advanced workshops, which will be announced at a later date.

Entrepreneurial Skills Modules can be completed individually or as part of the Entrepreneurial Skills Certificate, which serves as formal recognition of comprehensive basic training in the field of entrepreneurship. Participants receive ECTS credits for completed courses. The relevant examination office for the respective degree program decides whether these can be credited as interdisciplinary skills. Individual consultation is necessary in this regard.

The remaining dates will be added step by step in September, so we recommend that all interested in the modules check the website regularly.
