SERVICE PERSONNEL SECONDARY EMPLOYMENT FOR CIVIL SERVANTS

According to Section 62 of the LBG, any secondary employment must be approved before entering it. The only exceptions are the secondary activities listed in Section 63(1) of the LBG, some of which must be reported before commencing.

SECONDARY ACTIVITIES REQUIRING APPROVAL

These include, in particular

  • Paid teaching and instruction activities
  • Paid consulting activities
  • Paid dependent expert activities
  • Paid employment (e. g., taxi driver)
  • The exercise of a commercial (e. g., craftsman) or independent profession (e. g., therapist)
  • Entry into a corporate body of a company with the exception of a cooperative
  • Paid activities for self-help institutions (e. g., insurance or building society contract brokerage)

DECLARABLE REMUNERATED SECONDARY EMPLOYMENT ACTIVITIES

These include, in particular

  • Writing, scientific, artistic, or lecturing activities
  • Activities to protect professional interests in trade unions and professional associations or in self-help organizations for civil servants
  • Independent expert activities
