SERVICE PERSONNEL PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION FOR SUBSTITUTE PROFESSORS

Department 5.1 is responsible for the personnel administration of substitute professors. It handles all matters relating to their employment, from recruitment to termination.

  • Support and advice on personnel law matters, e.g., fixed-term appointments for vacant professorships, appointments until appointment as a university professor, termination of employment.
  • Employment as a substitute professor is generally as an employee and is thus subject to social security contributions. In exceptional cases, employment may be based on civil service law if the civil servant on leave has a guarantee notice. This can be requested from the previous place of employment.
  • Instruction and payment of remuneration by the State Office for Salaries and Pensions (LBV). Remuneration is generally based on salary grade W2.
