NEW Workshop: Intercultural Competence for Tutors

In a teaching environment, students from diverse cultural backgrounds and study conditions are often brought together, which also means that ideas and expectations may clash. In this workshop (student) tutors are introduced to tools and methods that can be used to successfully teach and work with students from different cultural backgrounds.


  • introduction to the topic of interculturality
  • raising awareness: teaching interculturally as a tutor
  • methods and tools to create a constructive learning and teaching environment
  • handling challenging situations, developing solutions on the basis of case studies

This information event is intended for employees with teaching responsibilities. It provides an overview of gender and diversity in university teaching and introduces methods and tools for practical use.

NEW Academia and Family – Mentoring for Young Parents

This is a forum for researchers who either have family responsibilities or are planning to become parents. The forum focuses on the compatibility of work and family, and on ways to achieve it. Information on university offers will be presented. As “role-models”, experienced researchers provide examples of how to successfully combine family and academia. Upon request, mentor-mentee relationships can be set up.

  • advice on dealing with conflicts and emergencies in everyday life
