Theatre workshop IDeFix

Theatre workshop IDeFix - Training of communicative and rhetorical skills for University and professional life via the medium of theatre

Led by: Joachim Bürkert

IDeFix is the name of the theatre group of the Institut für Deutsch als Fremdsprachenphilologie (IDF) and the International Relations Office. We want to encourage all students interested in the theatre to take the stage. We believe that acting is one of the most spirited, joy-filled and effective ways to learn German and experience the language in all its facets.

At the end of this summer term we want to celebrate our 25th Anniversary with several performances. They will take place at the "Romanischer Keller".

 Homestay Programme

The Heidelberg University International Relations Office wants to give international students the opportunity to find out more about German Christmas and New Year's traditions. International students will be able to spend the holidays with a German host family, experiencing first-hand how these holidays are celebrated in Germany.

Whether for a festive meal, a pleasant afternoon enjoying Christmas cookies, or an invitation for the entire holiday week, the time that international students share with their hosts is a culturally-enriching experience for everyone.

Who Can Become Hosts?

Hosts are not limited just to traditional family units: singles, couples, single-parent families, and/or groups of flatmates living in Heidelberg or the surrounding area - from students to senior citizens - can serve as hosts. All that is required is a sense of curiosity, openness, and a willingness to include the guest in family life for the duration of the visit.

Sounds interesting? For those interested in becoming hosts, more information can be found here.

Who Are the Guests?

The programme is aimed at international students enrolled at Heidelberg University who are eager to meet new people and learn more about - and experience - German culture.

Sounds interesting? For those interested in becoming guests, more information can be found here.

Homestays Througout Germany

The organisation Experiment e.V. arranges two-week homestays for international students during the semester breaks. For more information, click here.
