Heidelberg University supports all of its members in their transfer activities and offers a platform for the advancement of innovative ideas. Its services include consultations for founders, patent management and start up support as well as entrepreneurship education, qualification programmes and knowledge transfer, support with science communication and networking initiatives.

The transfer agency hei_INNOVATION offers consulting services to all members of the university that would like to engage in any form of transfer activity. This service does not only include start-up consultations, but also consulting services in the realm of knowledge transfer into and for society as well as developing innovative ideas and projects related to transfer.
Entrepreneurial Skills
Students, PhD students and postdocs from all disciplines can further their education in the field of entrepreneurial skills. The modules teach skills such as developing transfer strategies, applying one's own skills to new areas, combining needs. Networking
The hei_INNOVATION team supports those members of Heidelberg University that (want to) engage in transfer activities by connecting them not only with one another but also with external players, such as industrial partners, key actors in the arts and cultural scene as well as members of the region’s start up ecosystem.
Patents and Intellectual Property
Patent management is the contact point for every innovator at Heidelberg University and guides its members through the jungle of intellectual property (laws). Furthermore, qualified external partners offer both their expertise and experience in all matters related to innovation.
Service Communication
The staff unit of the rectorate Communications and Marketing (KuM) offers consulting services and support for all matters related to the professional communication between science and society, guaranteeing that it is aligned with the needs of the specific target groups and media outlets.
