Who can register?

Admission to our courses is only possible for members of the University of Heidelberg: undergraduate students, PhD candidates, and employees and trainees of Heidelberg University. If there are still places available, we open our courses to students of Mannheim University and Pädagogische Hochschule Heidelberg.
Most of our courses are open to all members of the University of Heidelberg, but in some cases restrictions apply, esp. if course is offered for students enrolled in a particular study course.

Where and when do I register?

Please see right column on startpage www.uni-heidelberg.de/zsl

If you have completed a course either during the last semester or during the semester break and informed your teacher that you wish to continue learning the language, a spot in a follow-up course will be reserved for you, but you still have to come to registration like everyone else.

How do I find out which course to take?

Ask our instructors, who are available for questions and counselling during registration. For people who have already learned English, French, Italian, Russian or Spanish outside ZSL, we have prepared placement tests to determine what level in our course system is suitable for their needs.

What do I need to bring to registration?

A valid student ID or University of Heidelberg work contract, and a pen.

How many courses can I register for?

You can register for only one semester course.

When do classes start?

The lists of admissions will be posted in the entrance area of the Language Center by 5 p.m. Tuesday, 14. October 2015.
Classes begin on Wednesday, 19.October 2015.

How and when do I pay for the course?

You pay the course fee in room 316. Payment must be made with your CampusCard or student ID. We have no machine to put money on your CampusCard or student ID, so make sure you have enough money on it before you pay. You have to pay for the course within two weeks.
