How to get to Heidelberg

By car: Coming from the A 5, change to A 656 to Heidelberg at motorway junction Heidelberg; coming from the A 6, change at motorway junction Mannheim.	Regional map Heidelberg town map
By train to Heidelberg main station: Heidelberg can be reached via the Deutsche Bahn intercity connection. For timetable inquiries see Deutsche Bahn.

How to get to the city centre

By car:

Coming from the motorway:
Leave the motorway towards main station, pass main station heading towards Heidelberg castle, then follow Kurfürstenanlage to Adenauerplatz. Having passed Adenauerplatz, go straight on into Gaisbergtunnel. Cars can be parked in the centre´s parking decks.
Coming form the directions of Neckargemünd:
At Karlstor turn left into the Schloßbergtunnel and follow the direction Zentrum/Schloß. Cars can be parked in the centre´s parking decks.

Public transport at the main station:
Bus line 32 to Uniplatz, bus line 34 to Bismarckplatz and change to bus line 31, alternativly busses BRN 735 and BRN 755 to the congress centre and take a six minutes walk to the Uniplatz.

How to get to the "Neuenheimer Feld"

By car:	Coming from the motorway: Turn left towards "Chirurgie" at the end of the motorway. Having crossed the Neckar on Ernst-Waltz-Brücke turn left to the institutes. Coming from Neckargemünd: Follow Uferstrasse, then turn into Posseltstraße; having turned left into Jahnstraße or right into Berliner Straße, finally turn left to reach the institutes. Public transport from the main station to the Neuenheimer Feld: Take bus line 32 or cablecar lines 24 and 5. In the old town take bus line 31 going to Neuenheimer Feld departing at the University Square.

Going to the hospitals in Bergheim

By car:

Coming from the motorway:
Go straight on at the end of the motorway following Bergheimer Straße until the hospital can be seen on the left. You may cross the railroads or park your car on the right side of the street and walk to the hospital.
From Neckargemünd:
Go along the southern shore of the Neckar, then follow Neckarstaden towards Zentrum and Bismarckplatz. Having passed Bismarckplatz, turn right into Bergheimer Straße where you will find the hospital on the right.

Public transport from the main station to Bergheim:
Take busses line 32 and cablecar line 22.

How to get to Mannheim

By car:

Coming from the A 5 (south/north) change to A 656 towards Mannheim-Neckarau at junction Heidelberg; coming from the A 6, change at junction Mannheim. Keep right and leave A 656 after some hundred metres towards Mannheim-Feudenheim. Then go straight on crossing the Neckar and the Neckar channel and turn left into Feudenheimer Straße at the next crossroads. Then go straight on to the university clinics, which are on the left. Cars may be parked on the parking deck.

By train to Mannheim main station:
Mannheim can be reached via the Deutsche Bahn intercity connection. For timetable inquiries see Deutsche Bahn.

Public transport from main station to university clinics:
Take train OEG 5/5R (Schriesheim/Käfertal) to "Universitätsklinikum" or go by cablecar MVV 7 (Vogelstang) and get off at "Universitätsklinikum".
