"Deutschlandstipendium" National Scholarship Programme

What is the "Deutschlandstipendium"?
The "Deutschlandstipendium" scholarship supports young, talented scholars at German universities, including those at Heidelberg University. The scholarship recipient receives 300 € per month, totalling 3,600 € annually. Half is paid by the federal government, and private donors cover the rest (1,800 € per year). Heidelberg University awards the scholarships every year for the start of the winter semester..
Who can receive support?
Support is provided to students, including new incoming students, who demonstrate great promise for future success in their studies and beyond, without regard for their parents’ income. The scholarship is provided for usually two semesters, often up to the standard period of study. The award criteria include accomplishments in secondary school and the university, social commitment and successful mastery of biographical hurdles. Each university selects its recipients.
