"Deutschlandstipendium" National Scholarship Programme

Heidelberg University supports talented students through the “Deutschlandstipendium” National Scholarship Programme. Half the award is paid by the federal government, and private donors cover the rest. The scholarship, awarded regardless of income, provides financial support to capable students of all nationalities for a minimum of two semesters. The award criteria include performance in secondary school and university, as well as involvement in e.g. university policy initiatives, religious or political organisations and service to society, family or a social institution. Particular biographical hurdles posed by family circumstances or cultural heritage are also taken into consideration.
