Frontier Commission

In the framework of Excellence Initiative II, the Frontier Commission was established as the selection board for the Frontier Programme of Heidelberg University. Members include scientists and scholars from all four Fields of Focus.

Using monies from the Institutional Strategy, the Frontier Innovation Fund supports small to medium-size research projects of outstanding scientific quality and high innovation potential.

To ensure project aid begins promptly and that ideas remain undisclosed, the Frontier Commission is an internal university board tasked with the evaluation and selection of applications. Additional researchers from Heidelberg University are included in the evaluation process as deemed necessary.
