Funding amount € 30,000
Eligibility criteria The Academy Prize honours scientists whose current research is ground-breaking and opens up new and promising horizons. The prize is intended to support the major push toward ultimate scientific breakthrough; there is no age limit.

Balzan Prizes
Funding amount One million Swiss Francs each. Since 2001 the statutes call for half the funds to be used for projects involving young researchers.
Eligibility criteria The four Balzan Prizes, two per category, are awarded to researchers, scientists, scholars and artists who have distinguished themselves in their fields on an international level.

Funding amount A diploma, a commemorative medal and $10,000 U.S.
Eligibility criteria The winners of the awards are outstanding representatives of the cultural community that have been working with dedication throughout their lives in science, education and the arts with clear contributions to the enhancement of mankind.
Disciplines The Albert Einstein World Award of Science was created as a means of recognition, and as an incentive to scientific and technological research and development.
The José Vasconcelos World Award of Education was established as an acknowledgement to those who have the all-important task of teaching the underlying basis of our present civilization.
The Leonardo da Vinci World Award of Arts was established as a means of acknowledgment to those who offer a positive message to mankind through different expressions of art.

Funding amount € 25,000
Eligibility criteria The MRN Innovation Award is given for projects that clearly surpass the current state of research and technology. Through the application of new technologies or processes, the researchers advanced an existing or anticipated innovation toward imminent market introduction. Researchers and developers who work in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region or the Karlsruhe Technology Region and are engaged in one of the five following fields are eligible to apply.
