Fortnightly via e-mail for students at the University of Heidelberg only
The second issue of the University of Heidelberg's new newsletter Journal@RupertoCarola has now been dispatched. A central subject is the election of Heidelberg's new CEO (Oberbürgermeister) for the next eight years, including extensive interviews with the two most likely candidates for the post, Prof. Caja Thimm and Dr. Eckart Würzner, on subjects of student interest. Dr. Würzner decided the election in his favour on Sunday.
Other topics are the internationally noted research findings on gamma radiation from the vicinity of the supermassive black hole at the centre of galaxy M87, in which Heidelberg scientists were crucially involved, and the current exhibition at the Prinzhorn Collection venue in Heidelberg entitled "The Air Loom and Other Influence Gadgets".
Journal@RupertoCarola is issued fortnightly and is sent via e-mail exclusively to all students at the University of Heidelberg. The different sectors of the magazine provide information on and from the University, including the latest updates on studying abroad, student groups, career openings and news from the institutes and Faculties. The journal rounds off with an extensive day-to-day "What's On" section and announcements of coming events.
