Information About Host Universities

Following their registration by the ERASMUS coordinator, students will receive information direct from the host university.

If you wish to gain information about potential host universities before this point (i.e. before applying), it may be worth visiting the Information Room for Study and Internships Abroad (Info-Zimmer, Room 139) at the International Relations Office. There you will find information about partner universities as well as reports written by students who have been recipients of an ERASMUS scholarship in the past.

Further information about host universities is available from ERASMUS coordinators or on the websites of individual institutes. Reports written by students who have previously received an Erasmus Mobility grant are collated here. These reports will provide you with initial insight into what it will be like to live abroad and study at a European partner university.

A good way of preparing yourself for your period of study abroad is contacting visiting students in Heidelberg, who come from ERASMUS partner universities. Some ERASMUS coordinators organise meetings between visiting ERASMUS students and students at Heidelberg University. In addition, certain student groups, such as the students groups AEGEE Heidelberg and ESN Heidelberg, provide numerous opportunities for students in Heidelberg to meet ERASMUS students.

The iAgora database is a further source of information, where students provide detailed information about their individual experiences at host universities abroad. [Homepage]
